The IIM BoardThe Institute is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee, and is governed by its Memorandum and Articles of Association, which set out its constitution. Under the Articles, the work of the Institute is directed by its Management Board, which is composed of Members of the Institute elected in May at the Annual General Meeting.The work of the Board is supported by a number of sub-committees, all of which are chaired by a Board member.Management Board
Robert Purse Robert has more than 30 years experience as an HR Practitioner and General Manager. He has worked in Germany, Hong Kong, the UK, France, Hungary, Poland and Turkey. He has over 14 years experience as a professional Interim, during which time he has worked with a wide range of organisations. Sectors served, as an Interim, include: Aviation, Construction, Engineering, FM, IT, Ports and Railways. Robert’s client portfolio includes: ADP, Carillion, Hurel-Hispano, Manchester Airports Group, Mersey Ports, Northern Rail and SAB-Miller. He was runner-up in the Interim Manager of the Year Award 2002 and much of his work is focused on successful change.
Kelvin is a chartered management accountant with a wide range of turnaround and business development experience at CEO and CFO levels both internationally and within the UK. He has successfully worked in several industries including food processing, telecommunications, tobacco and FMCG on start ups, profit development, cost restructuring, acquisitions, systems implementation and closures. Kelvin has been an interim manager for five years following corporate life with multinationals Qualcomm Inc, Reemtsma GmbH and Coopers & Lybrand.
Andrew has been consulting in communication strategy, issues management and change management since 1997, taking on interim assignments for his consulting clients when needed. His consulting is based on twenty years senior international management experience in an international organisation (The International Olympic Committee) and multinationals (Ford, Philip Morris and British American Tobacco). He is a member of the management board of the European Centre of Public Affairs and a Business Associate of the Judge Business School’s Centre for International Business and Management (CIBAM) at Cambridge University.
Tom Pickering Tom has held senior management EMEA-wide roles with Lucas, Novar, and Lexar Inc, in diverse sectors covering telecoms, financial services and FMCG retail. A dynamic, customer-focused, successful career executive interim manager, specialising in operations management, supply chain and procurement, Tom was runner up in the Interim Manager of the Year Award 2007. He has led change in some of the most challenging, fastest-moving, high growth business environments, ranging from post acquisition mergers to EMEA-wide site rationalisations, start ups, realignments of very successful businesses, turnarounds and business sales. Tom graduated from Loughborough University in 1989 with a degree in engineering.
After an early career in a public utility and in the aerospace and chemicals sectors, Bob has had twenty years experience in telecoms and IT with major companies, including AT&T. His primary interests and recent experience are in marketing strategy, business development and business planning. He has operated as an Interim for the last five years – assignments include international venture management, revenue assurance and management of a major network cost reduction project.
